Shape mobility for a sustainable future!

Join NEVS in our vision to be part of driving the change needed in the world!

We are now looking for System Engineers defining our brake-by-wire functionality

Description

You will be part of the Chapter Vehicle Motion Controls Engineering & Artificial Intelligence, which is one of five competence areas within the Software Tribe. Our focus is to define and develop embedded vehicle software solutions for integrated vehicle motion control and self-driving capabilities. We are also supporting this development with data analytics and strategies for data management.

We are now looking for experienced system engineers that can define our future integrated vehicle motion control platform, and together with our inhouse software development and suppliers bring this to life. Integrated Vehicle motion Control (IVC) is where the vehicles motion, both longitudinal and lateral, is integrated and controlled by one software.

We expect you to act as the brake-by-wire expert in a team that will define the next generation drive-by-wire systems for our self-driving vehicles. In your role you will define functional requirements, evaluate concepts and work closely with your team and with suppliers to identify and implement the most optimal brake-by-wire solution for our vehicles. You will work in close collaboration with engineers who have experience from development of both mechanical and electrical vehicle motion components, such as braking, steering and electric propulsion systems. You will contribute with the system- and functional perspective of this development and will be a key player to find the optimal trade-off between the requirements (performance, functional safety, quality and cost).

You will join an agile organization, where team work, empowered self-organizing teams and quick learning cycles is a key to success. Thus you need to be a good team player and continuously strive to make the team successful.

We will ensure that you will have opportunities to grow and take on new challenges!

The role involves:

  • Break down vehicle and system level requirements into braking (brake-by-wire) system requirements
  • Work with suppliers, partners and internal development teams to define and evaluate functional concepts of brake-by-wire systems
  • Evaluate capability of "brake-by-wire" suppliers
  • Work close with the team to ensure a cross functional requirement set
  • Support defining V&V strategies for brake-by-wire systems
  • Support functional safety engineers in the analysis of the HARA and breakdown of safety goals to safety concept and technical safety requirement.
  • Collaboration with NEVS engineers and partners at different departments and locations
  • Mentoring of colleagues

We are looking for someone who has:

  • More than 10 years of experiences from automotive (or similar) industry
  • At least 5-10 years of experience as system engineer in the field of vehicle motion control, with at least 3-5 years related to braking and preferably brake-by-wire
  • Very good knowledge in ISO 26262 and experience from working with components meeting ASIL C or higher
  • Bachelor of Science or higher degree
  • Test-driven development approach
  • Focus on solving problems
  • Ability to share her or his expertise to colleagues
  • Fluent English skills, both spoken and written
  • Driver license for vehicle

To be successful in this role, you need to:

  • Believe in our future products
  • Be a team player
  • Be action oriented
  • Be innovative
  • Be flexible

Great consideration will be given to your personal aptitude for the position!
