We are now looking for Certification Engineers!

Description

The Certification Engineers are incorporated within Quality & Environment department, which is a support, function reporting to the COO. Our overall responsibility is to ensure an efficient and effective utilization of our resources by supporting functional activities taking place in both Sweden and China. The QE-dept. contains of Regulatory Affairs, Quality Management & Assurance, and Environmental Management. As a certification engineer you will lead the work related to homologation. The work is done in cooperation with other functions.

Practical experiences and theoretical knowledge together with social skills is important in this role. We are transforming into a more agile way of working with empowered self-organizing teams, quick learning and implementation is a key to succeed. Thus, you need to be a good team player.

The organization “’Homologation team” is responsible for supporting the NEVS product development organization with actual and relevant international regulatory information and for performing activities within the scope of vehicle Type Approval and Certification.

This role also involves:

  • Responsible for management of legal areas as agreed in the Team. Monitor Authority and Organizations development to keep legal database updated with latest information.
  • Responsible to keep legal plan updated within work areas.
  • Responsible to compile technical information and write applications for Certification and Type Approval.
  • Perform or Support of Worst case discussions prior to Certification.
  • Support of Certification in place and to support / cooperate with Authority.
  • Interpretation of legislation within legal area to support development organization, when needed in cooperation with Authority.
  • Support Engineering Change Management by answering change orders within area of responsibility. Inform design departments and project of valid legislation, upcoming changes and other relevant matters within work field.
  • Support development in creation of Statement of Requirements for products.
  • Support management of NEVS (RA) process to ensure that product meets legal and conformity requirements, if needed propose adjustments to meet requirement.
  • Responsible for NEVS standards in work field.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • BSc engineering, legal studies, or equivalent experience similar role in product development within the automotive industry minimum 5 years
  • Specialist certification process (Homologation)
  • Experience from automotive legislation work and certification testing, product development, requirement management, regulatory interpretations and/or qualification testing. (Experience from Legal Development Work or Product Liability case support is a merit).
  • Language: Swedish and English (Chinese is a merit)
  • Pedagogic and communications skills
  • Knowledge of tools: Microsoft Excel, Excel Macro (Visual Basic), SharePoint
  • Driver License (at least for M1) Required

To be successful in the role, you need to:

  • Analytical
  • Holistic view and deep knowledge with in relevant legal requirements
  • Ability to prioritize, understand, summarize and communicate legislation and regulatory information, of various technical content
  • Structured and good planning skills

NEVS is a member of the Engineering Industries and covered by current collective bargaining agreement signed by Unionen / Sveriges Ingenjörer / Ledarna.
