We are looking for manufacturing general assembly project leader within ME General Assembly & Paint. The team you will be part of is responsible for all the manufacturing requirements, manufacturability assessment, and improving the processes and tools around it.

 

Description

To be a part of the general assembly team is an interesting challenge from an engineering perspective. Seldom is so many engineering areas combined to achieve a task.

To make a car appealing and give a quality experience for the costumer a wide range of engineering skills is combined. Robot technology, mechanical engineering, software programing and fluid fill technology is together with plant energy consumption a big part to ensure sustainable products and production. At the same time the general assembly shop is located in between body, paint shop, suppliers and delivery of final products, that’s requires the general assembly engineer has to have a general understanding of these processes as customer and supplier.

In the car development process manufacturing engineers assess the design of the car parts to fit the general assembly shop processes to ensure manufacturability.

If the car demands do not fit the general assembly processes, manufacturing engineers need to find new process solutions and develop manufacturing tooling for the general assembly shop.

All work that must be done in the general assembly shop is described by the manufacturing engineers, in a job instruction and process description.

The product development at NEVS is performed in an agile way of working and input from Manufacturing Engineers to product engineering is in agile teams on NEVS called squads.

The ME organization at NEVS is divided in two teams, stamping and body together in one and paint and general assembly in the other which you will belong.

 

The role

Your role is to plan and follow up the project. The planning and follow up contains both cost and time planning. To make the plans a knowledge and understanding of the master timing chart and budget is needed.

The work follows the product development process that is divided in phases with gates and milestones.

The role includes leading and bridging the product assessment manufacturing engineers and the process planning engineers. The end “product” of your work is an ensured manufactural product in a working manufacturing paint process described in process and job instructions.

You need to be an open person to create a wide contact web of people and be involved in the agile organization.

The consumer to your work is both the project stream and the production organization. Your work need to contribute to both their targets.

You will present plans and ideas to both management and project teams and you are in the center of the web.    

 

 This role also involves:

  • Lead the general assembly related projects.
  • Continues improvement of the planning.
  • Cost follow up and budget planning
  • Involvement of the resource squad planning.
  • Make project charters for tasks
  • Arrange project meetings
  • Create general assembly project KPI’s and follow up

 We are looking for someone who has:

  • University level of engineering or long experience from working in manufacturing engineering in automotive industry
  • Project management experience
  • Agile project experience, non-software.

  • Be interested of a variety of technologies
  • Embrace working in teams
  • Like to make presentations before different audiences.
