We are now looking for students for Master Thesis work concerning:

Electronic stability control development for in-wheel motor driven vehicle

Perform the yaw moment control and wheel torque allocation based on in-wheel motor driven vehicle features.

To achieve the vehicle stability control, a yaw rate reference is calculated based on vehicle speed, steering wheel angle and other vehicle state parameters. To keep the vehicle actual yaw rate following the reference value, that is, to avoid over steering and under steering, the electronic stability controller (ESC) will generate a yaw moment target, which will be further fulfilled by applying torque on different wheels. There are different wheel torque allocating strategies to be verified in this program, since all of four the wheels can be controlled by motor torque and friction braking torque individually in an in-wheel motor driven vehicle.

Within this thesis topic, the ESC controller and torque allocation strategies are tuned with IPG Carmaker application and tested with an in-wheel motor driven car on test track.

Selection work and interviews will be ongoing continuously during the application period, so please send your application as soon as possible!
