We are now looking for an experienced Seat System Engineer

Description

The Body & Interior Engineering Chapter is one of five competence teams inside the Hardware Engineering Tribe. Within the Chapter we are responsible for Body-, Closures-, Exterior- and Interior development. The overall responsibility of the Tribe is to secure NEVS present and future need for Hardware Competence & Technology, while building a great place to work. 

We work in a lean, agile organization where people with certain competences are either members of squads (smaller teams), and/or act in a supporting role to these squads. To be successful you need to have an open mind, be solution oriented, a team player and able to adapt to change.

The Seating systems will become a vital function in future products that will require new ideas and concepts considering Comfort, Convenience and Safety.

As Seat System Engineer, you will be responsible for concept studies/selections at vehicle architecture, system and component level. Establish and improve technical product specifications and assist in developing tests methods for seat attributes as strength, appearance, durability and NVH.

Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with seating suppliers to evaluate the feasibility of new proposals and products to ensure the most cost-effective solution that meet projects performance & reliability targets.

The role involves:

  • Leading the development of Seat Systems thorough theoretical and practical knowledge.
  • System integration into vehicle
  • Lead/support technical communication, both internal and external.
  • Lead/support supplier assessments and reviews

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher university degree or equal work experience, min 10 years
  • Extensive knowledge for multiple components, attributes and system processes within Seats
  • Very good understanding in all phases of the development of Seat Systems
  • Knowledge of materials used in Seat Systems such as Steel, Composites, Plastics, PUR Foam, Surface materials, Wire Harness, Electrical switches and Comfort systems
  • A practical hands-on approach
  • Team Center/NX knowledge is an advantage

Terms

NEVS is a member of the Engineering Industries and covered by current collective bargaining agreement signed by Unionen / Sveriges Ingenjörer / Ledarna.
