Description

The Vehicle Motion Hardware Engineering Chapter is one of five competence teams within the Hardware Engineering Tribe. Areas we cover are Suspension, Steering, Brakes, Propulsion, Thermal Management and Climate Comfort. Our task is to provide NEVS present and future need for Hardware, Competence & Technology.

 

We work in a lean, agile organization where people with certain competences are either members of squads (smaller teams) with mutual responsibility, and/or act in a supporting role to these squads. To be successful you need to have an open mind, be solution oriented, a team player and able to adapt to change.

 

As a Design Engineer, you will be a key player in developing our future products, shaping components and optimizing the integration within one or several of the areas mentioned above. Your work is heavily CAD oriented. It is of high importance that you are creative and possess imagination to realize ideas.

It is also important for us that you value a great atmosphere while working together to achieve something extra ordinary.

 

Work tasks

  • 3D Modeling and creation of GD&T in NX, following NEVS Methods and Standards.
  • Contributing in setting design requirements on component level.
  • Interaction with CAE and NVH in the development process.
  • Support in the development of prototype parts and the work to produce them.
  • Collaborate with mechanical integration for vehicle implementation.
  • Create a dialogue with Manufacturing Engineering to secure manufacturability.
  • Design optimization with the help of cost estimation for serial production.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Engineering experience working with component design and it’s manufacturability in either plastics (injection molding or blow molding), aluminum (high pressure die casting) or steel (stamping and protective methods) is considered beneficial.
  • Knowledge of assembly sequences.
  • Basic understanding of requirements setting on component level for manufacturing.
  • Understanding of/Experience from Suspension, Steering, Brakes, Propulsion, Powertrain Integration, Thermal Management or HVAC work is considered an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of Swedish and/or Mandarin Chinese desirable.
