About the position

You will be part of the Body and Closure team which focus is to develop state of the art Body structures and Closure systems for our next generation self-driving vehicles included in the PONS Autonomous Mobility Ecosystem – A smart and proactive fleet offering excellent, on-demand, sustainable mobility services to citizens of the smart cities of the future.

Who are you?

In addition to being a great team player, you have successfully completed at least a Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical engineering. We also believe that you have several years of experience in similar or equivalent roles within automotive Body In White (both upper and lower structure).

  • At least 7-10 years’ experience in Body In White development.
  • Excellent knowledge of designing metal body structural components (both steel and aluminum)
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes (stamping, extrusion, casting etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of joining methods (including spot and laser welding, clinching, structural glue, flow drilling)
  • Excellent experience of CAD modelling and 3D PMI in NX
  • Very good experience in Teamcenter
  • Skills in coaching, leading and inspiring others
  • Good communication skill in English (both verbally and written)
  • Analytical problem-solving ability
  • Self-driven

 

You will among other things:

  • Be the co-responsible design leader for Body in White from concept phase to industrialization and implementation in production
  • Always improve the design of the upper and lower body structure so that it meets all legal demands and attribute performances
  • Lead the coordination of the interface needs from other departments by evaluating their requests and coming back with feasible matching possibilities
  • Make detailed design using advance knowledge of innovative materials with appropriate joining methods and manufacturing processes to be able to achieve high performances on both system and vehicle level
  • Consider limitations imposed by regulations, quality, safety and weight
  • Work together with CAE team interpreting and using analysis results to optimize the system´s performance
  • Work together with manufacturing to ensure that geometry and feasibility requirements are fulfilled
  • Propose and support tests and tryouts to prove out the design and that the assembly requirements are fulfilled
